TCA Announces Third IAP Service Provider

Transport Certification Australia Limited (TCA), the company administering the Intelligent Access Program (IAP), today announced OmniSTAR Pty Ltd as its third IAP Service Provider.

TCA Chief Executive Officer Mr Chris Koniditsiotis congratulated OmniSTAR on their achievement; "It gives me great pleasure to welcome OmniSTAR on-board as an IAP Service Provider. The addition of another service provider demonstrates the robustness of the program and further increases the competitive environment”, he said.

OmniSTAR was established in 1994 to provide advanced GPS augmentation services to Australian industries. They currently have offices across Australia as well as in Singapore and New Zealand.

Since 2002 OmniSTAR has offered the OmniTRACK range of services and is a provider of intelligent technology and mobile data solutions for asset monitoring and tracking within the transport sector.

OmniSTAR's managing director John Sprivulis welcomed the news of OmniSTAR's IAP certification "OmniSTAR is excited about reaching this important milestone in our long-term plans of providing hassle free services to the transport industry."

The IAP is a program which provides transport operators of heavy vehicles with improved access to Australia's road network in return for GPS monitoring of compliance with specific access conditions. In return, the IAP provides road authorities with greater confidence heavy vehicles are complying with the agreed road access conditions.

Under the IAP, participating heavy vehicles are monitored using telematics services with an in-vehicle unit (IVU). The IVU is supplied and operated by an IAP Service Provider, certified by TCA.

Only IAP Service Providers, identified by the IAP Certification Symbol, can supply IAP services.

Further details about IAP Service Providers and the IAP in general can be found at www.IAP.gov.au the dedicated IAP website.
