Why join the IAP? //

A transport operator will most likely have joined the IAP because it can provide them with improved access to the Australian road network in return for monitoring of compliance with specific access conditions.

The IAP is a voluntary program, which makes participating in it a commercial decision for a transport operator.

The IAP may be relevant to a transport operator whose business:

• Could benefit from carrying more mass
• Could benefit from operating longer vehicles
• Would like to gain access to a specific road or network
• Could benefit from operating with additional trailers
• Would like to operate during specific hours
• Would like to demonstrate to customers their commitment to meeting their chain of responsibility obligations
