IAP in QLD //
In Queensland IAP Applications are managed by Queensland Transport and the Department of Main Roads.
Queensland Transport and Main Roads are working together to develop the systems and frameworks required for the IAP in Queensland.
Queensland currently has an agreement with the Commonwealth Government for funding to extend Queensland's Higher Mass Limits (HML) road network. A condition of this agreement is that HML vehicles accessing this network will become IAP monitored.
IAP Applications in QLD
Higher Mass Limits (HML)
HML, as an IAP off-the-shelf Application, is now available to Transport Operators in Queensland. Participation in the IAP will become a requirement for vehicles accessing the HML network from 1 July 2009.
Other IAP Applications
A number of other IAP Applications are likely to be available in Queensland, beginning from 2009, covering:
- specialised rigid vehicles (mobile cranes)
- innovative vehicles (quad-axle semis etc.)
- certain performance based standards (PBS) vehicles
