IAP Applications //

IAP Application is the generic term for a road access scheme (or permit etc.) which includes a set of IAP Conditions against which participating vehicles are assessed for compliance by an IAP Service Provider.

A vehicle can operate under any number of IAP Applications (granted by one or more road authorities) in the same way it can operate under more than one permit or concession under the traditional restricted access regime. 

There are two types of IAP Applications:

• off-the-shelf  –  generally catering for widely available, longer term access arrangements
• unique  –  generally catering for vehicle specific, one-off or short term access arrangements

The nature and availability of IAP Applications will vary between road authorities.
